WATERFALL JAZZ TRIO

The WaterFall Jazz Trio is my newest project. As a singer I am most comfortable singing from behind the drum set as I have for most of my professional performing life. Over the last couple years I had been hired to sing a collection of Frank Sinatra songs in front of a big band. While I enjoyed the songs and style of singing I felt naked out front of the band without the drum set around me. And besides I would rather play drums than hire someone else to play (although when I did hire out I had great drummers playing!) I wanted to continue performing these and other songs by artists I admired and had inspired me. I tried a "small big band" but as I said I was not comfortable. In fact another local singer has his big band show well put together and that was another factor in trying a small ensemble to express this music. The WaterFall Jazz Trio is an ensemble that allows me new musical exploration and rediscovery.

Leroy Garner (on keyboards)
Leroy is a member of the Nebraska Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. He operates a successful recording studio and is a talented record producer and sound recording engineer. He is also a wonderful jazz pianist and is often featured with the Columbia Big Band.

Clinton Day (on bass)
Clinton began studying music at Columbia College in California in 1982 under Dr. Rod Harris. He finished his studies at San Jose State University in California, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1987, and earning a Master of Arts Degree in 1990. He has been primarily a bassist for the last 19 years, but is also a jazz pianist, arranger and vocalist. Clinton has released two solo CDs titled: "What Day is Today?" and "Spend My Time".
